2020 GPLI Practitioner of the Year: Dr. Jeffrey Walline

The GP Lens Institute’s highest honor awarded to a practitioner.

“For outstanding professional expertise in fitting customized contact lenses to benefit patients with improved vision and corneal health, and to advance the contact lens field.”

Dr. Jeff Walline received his doctor of optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. He received both a master’s degree in physiological optics and a PhD in vision science from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where he is on faculty in the Binocular Vision and Pediatrics and Contact Lens Services. He is a diplomate and member of the board of directors of the American Academy of Optometry and a council member of the AOA Contact Lens and Cornea Section. Dr. Walline has conducted several pediatric contact lens studies to evaluate the effect of contact lens wear on myopia progression and children’s self-perceptions.
