About the Presenters

Dr. Louise A. Sclafani served as Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Optometric Services at University of Chicago from 1993-2017. Her main interests include contact lenses, corneal disease, and surgery co-management. From 2017- 2025, she applied her experience of challenging hospital-based care to a new role in industry as she took on professional affairs as Vice President at SynergEyes and then as the Head, Specialty Lens Portfolio, CooperVision. She continues to see patients at SoLo Eyecare, a private practice in Chicago and at the Illinois College of Optometry where she is an Associate Clinical Professor. She has held leadership roles in the American Optometric Association including Illinois State President and Chair of the Cornea and Contact Lens Section. She was awarded the status of Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society, Associate Member of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialists and Diplomate by the American Academy of Optometry CCLRT and is the Immediate Past- Chair of the Section. She was selected by Review of Optometry as one of the Top 10 Females at the Forefront of Optometry, and recently ranked as a National Keratoconus Foundation Top Doctors, News Week’s Top 100 Optometrist in the US, Vision Monday Most Influential Women, AOA Uncle Frank Fontana Award, WO Industry Influencer Theia Award and is a founding member of GLOW, Global Ophthalmic Women.

Dr. Tiffany Andrzejewski graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2010. Following graduation, she completed a post-doctoral residency in Cornea and Contact Lens management at Indiana University where prior to her joining Chicago Cornea Consultants, she served as a clinical faculty member. Her clinical work is dedicated exclusively to specialty contact lenses and surgical co-management. Dr. Andrzejewski’s special areas of interest include the management of dry eye, keratoconus, and other cornea and contact lens related issues, as well as scleral contact lenses. She is one of the top Eyeprint Pro prosthetic scleral lens fitters in the United States. In addition to caring for her patients, Dr. Andrzejewski also lectures on various contact lens topics and is actively involved in the clinical training of Optometry students and serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Illinois College of Optometry.

 Dr. Elise Kramer is a residency-trained optometrist in Miami FL who specializes in ocular surface disease and specialty contact lens design and fitting. Her Doctorate degree was awarded in Optometry from the Université de Montréal in 2012. During her fourth year, she completed her internship in ocular disease at the Eye Centers of South Florida and went on to complete her residency at the Miami VA Medical Center. Her time there included training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the nation’s top eye hospital. After her residency, Dr. Kramer became a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (SLS) and now serves as the president for the SLS. Dr. Kramer is also president of Women in Eyecare (WiE), a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE), a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and of the the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA). Dr. Kramer has published several important articles and reviews and is participates in clinical research trials. She enjoys lecturing all around the world in several different languages about ocular surface disease and specialty lenses.

 Dr. Carl Kramer is a residency-trained optometrist specializing in corneal and contact lens care, with clinical expertise in specialty lens fitting for complex corneal and ocular surface conditions. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed a cornea and contact lens residency at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Following his residency, Dr. Kramer entered into private practice before joining the UMSL College of Optometry faculty, where he served for five years. During his academic tenure, he provided clinical and classroom instruction, supervised advanced contact lens fitting, served as the cornea and contact lens residency coordinator and contributed to the education of future optometrists. Dr. Kramer works at Grin Eye Care, an OD/MD practice in the Kansas City area that specializes in anterior segment disease and cataract surgery. Dr. Kramer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society, serves as an advisory board member of the GP Lens Institute, and is an education consultant for Valley Contax. He has lectured on specialty contact lens topics at the local, state, and national levels, sharing his expertise with colleagues and advancing clinical education in the field.
